The Obama Egg Basket

Republicans are presently succeeding at nationalizing the midterm elections. They are making every race about their opponent's support of Barack Obama. They are betting everything on the negative poll numbers of the President. Why?

Because they have nothing else. This is the least productive Congress of all time, even worse than the "Do Nothing" Congress of Harry Truman's time. So they attack Barack Obama and anyone that might support him.

Unfortunately, up to this moment, the Democrats have not found a way to respond to the Republican strategy. The media methodically repeats and supports the Republican candidates' charges. "Obama is not competent." "We need boots on the ground." "The President doesn't listen to his military." "Even Jimmy Carter is critical of him." "Leon Panetta criticizes him in his new book." "Polls show Americans have no confidence in the government's ability to fight the Ebola crisis." Etc...etc...

Democrats have less than 4 weeks to counter these attacks. It could be a disastrous election if they continue to criticize their President and continue to let the Republicans have free shots at the dunking booth. Somebody in the Democratic Party needs to speak up for the President.

Republicans like to run their pie holes but they seldom offer any sane solutions. They left this President one of the biggest messes in the history of our country and then used every backdoor maneuver to block him at every turn. They criticized his "stimulus package" but offered nothing of substance in return. Forget "politics stops at the waters edge", almost every Republican has offered their own foreign policy strategies to defeating al Qaeda, ISIS, Assad of Syria, or whomever the enemy of the day might be?

They conveniently forget that the banking system was going under. They forget that the stock market was dropping like a rock and Americans investments were disappearing into thin air. They forget that the President was elected to get us out of the mess in Iraq and now they criticize him for not going back in with the full force of "boots on the ground". They have preached hatred for this President since the first day he was sworn in and it has created a dangerous environment where intruders shoot rounds at the White House and actually enter the White House with weapons. Then they dust their hands and say, "it's not our fault."

The President is only a man. He is not perfect. But, he is better than any of these Republicans that are now running him down and running down our country in the process. They are a dangerous gang that must be confronted. We cannot permit their slick and sly politicking to go unanswered.
