Iraq war resolution October 2002

Precisely 12 years ago on October 11 legislation was passed signifying the beginning of endless war in the middle east.

Never forget those who foolishly voted for and bravely against that resolution which gave Bush a blank check in Iraq.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/107th-congress/house-joint-resolution/114

It was passed in the House 297-133 (69%) and the Senate 77-23.

Notable among the 23 Senators that voted nea:

Barbara Boxer (CA)
Ted Kennedy (MA)
Carl Levin (MI)
Paul Wellstone (MN)
Ron Wyden (OR)
Pat Leahy (VT)
Robert Byrd (WV)
Russ Feingold (WI)

Tragically the vote was an impetus for Republican majorities in the 2002 mid-terms.

I attended the anti-war rally in DC before the damn war started.

"Tragically the vote was an impetus for Republican majorities in the 2002 mid-terms." - Yes. And we are still paying a price for this tragic mistake.
