On Sunday, Bernie Sanders reminded CNN host Candy Crowley that the United States current conflict with ISIS could not be blamed on President Obama. During CNNs State of the Union, the Vermont Senator said that if it werent for President George Bushs disastrous blunder during his presidency, extremist groups like ISIS wouldnt have had the chance to rise.
During the interview, Sanders said that although ISIS needed to be defeated, the people of America are getting sick and tired of the world and region Saudi Arabia and the other countries saying, Hey, we dont have to do anything about it. The American taxpayer, the American soldiers will do all the work for us.
Sanders continued:
Saudi Arabia is the fourth largest defense spender in the world. They have an army which is probably seven times larger than ISIS, they have a major air force. Their country is run by a royal family worth hundreds of billions of dollars. (source)
Sanders warned were going to lose that war if the conflict continued to be perceived as strictly between the United States and ISIS.
