New Marquette Law School Poll: Race for WI Governor 'dead tie' between Walker & Burke

The poll interviewed 1,004 registered voters of whom 803 were likely voters — and the poll was conducted from October 9th through the 12th. The margin of error in the poll is +/- 3.2 percentage points for registered voters, +/- 3.5 points for likely voters.

Poll Director Charles Franklin said at the beginning of the poll release, “It’s a dead tie.”

The poll puts Gov. Scott Walker and Democratic candidate for governor Mary Burke each at 47 percent among likely voters, with 4 percent undecided and fewer than one percent for others. Two weeks ago, the poll had Walker at 50 percent and Burke at 45 percent among likely voters.

Among registered voters, Walker has a slight edge at 48 percent to Burke’s 45 percent, with 5 percent undecided and fewer than one percent for others. Two weeks ago, it was 46 percent for Walker, 45 percent for Burke.
