I just keep hoping out there that somehow Anonymous will hear me and stop them, but with polls saying Sullivan will win, while Alaskans everywhere hate him for trying to take our rights away...it seems they are manufacturing consent in order to steal the election.
Another post mentioned everyone turning right wing, that is manufactured consent in attempt to brace us for Republicans stealing the senate.
Americans may be stupid, but no one thinks more republican bullshit is going to help.
Republicans in Alaska are voting for Begich, because he cares about our state. I see it everywhere in comments in the newspaper, suppport is 90% Begich.
Here is an example of how Alaskans feel about Sullivan...
There are only a few issues that get me fired up enough to write a letter to the editor, and HB 77 (also known as the Silencing Alaskans Act ) is one of them. What's worse is the thought that the person who spearheaded the awful bill might be our next US Senator.
When Dan Sullivan was Alaska s Department of Natural Resources Commissioner, he helped write and strong arm HB 77 through the state legislature, proving he has no idea what Alaskans want. Or he just doesn t care. The bill would have given unprecedented power to the DNR Commissioner to give gas, oil, and mining developers permits on Alaskans lands and waters... without any public input from our sportsmen and fishermen.
In the blink of an eye, our favorite hunting and fishing places in Alaska could be handed over to a developer and deemed off limits to Alaskans. Without our knowledge or say.
Thanks to strong, independent minded Alaskans, we came together to make sure HB 77 went nowhere. But no thanks goes to Dan Sullivan, who is quoted as saying he was proud of [his] effort to pass it.

As commissioner, his most notable legislative initiative was House Bill 77, a controversial bill which came be known as the Silencing Alaskans Act. Here is why: Section 1 of HB 77, as originally written, allowed the commissioner to authorize any activity so long as the activity wouldnt result in what DNR considered significant, irreparable harm to state land or resources. It gave the commissioner the power to single-handedly issue permits notwithstanding any other provision of the law. These last seven words, would have given then-commissioner Sullivan unfettered authority to trump almost any protection currently provided by law. The commissioner would have been able to do this with few findings and no public input. Even if the activity was likely to be harmful to fish, wildlife and threaten clean water, the commissioner could have chosen to proceed without even giving Alaskans an opportunity to provide input. Hence, the Silencing Alaskans Act.
Alaskans were equally disturbed with Sullivan when he tried, through HB 77, to deprive individual Alaskans of the right to reserve water for purposes of fisheries protection and recreation. Instead of standing up for our rights in this case, water rights he advocated for government to come in and take away these basic rights. Why did he propose such heavy-handed tactics against the public? Could it have anything do with smoothing the way for the controversial Pebble project? Thankfully, Alaskans across the state woke up, realized that streamlining was code for silencing and demanded that HB 77 be halted. Responding to an avalanche of opposition, the Legislature complied.

Alaska is notoriously difficult to poll, and my guess is very few polls are reaching the Native villages where I believe this race will be won or lost. Mark has been campaigning hard all over the state, person to person, going places that Sullivan hasn't even heard about, while Sullivan has been simply saturating the airways. I've gotten to the point where I mute all of his ads. He's an obvious plant, and I think a lot of people are hip to that.

(1,213 posts)I just don't trust how the votes will be counted.
The Koch brothers want this one bad!
They want it so bad, it's frightening.
I've taken to muting Sullivan's ads when they come on TV, and even in my car, when I hear the Murkowski BS on the radio, I just turn it off for 30 seconds. I'm completely fed up.

(1,213 posts)They do this to manufacture consent so that people believe it when they steal the election.
Republicans in Alaska are independent thinkers and they don't like this guy.
Same with Don young and the Dem challenger Forrenst Dunbar, we should win another seat in the House.
Don Young recently threatened forrest before a debate, claiming he killed the last person who touched him.
People are fed up with this stupidity.

(46,436 posts)since he failed to show up for another debate yesterday. I've had my issues with Mark, but he's infinitely more acceptable than Ohio Dan. I'm hoping that Mark's attention to the rural vote will pan out for him.

AMY GOODMAN: A top Republican internet strategist who was set to testify in a case alleging election tampering in 2004 in Ohio has died in a plane crash. Mike Connell was the chief IT consultant to Karl Rove and created websites for the Bush and McCain electoral campaigns. He also set up the official Ohio state election website reporting the 2004 presidential election returns.

(1,213 posts)I laughed when I heard rumors from legislators in Juneau, who relayed conversations with oil company lobbyists, that Sullivan had been looking for a state in which to run for the U.S. Senate, and was "sent here" by Karl Rove and some D.C. insiders to run for the Senate in Alaska. It seemed ridiculous, and knowing how Alaskans feel about Outsiders trying to come in and tell us how to run our state, there was simply no way this could ever happen.
This week, Sullivan missed another debate, and had refused to say why. Well, it turns out he was caught in Cleveland -- at another fundraiser there, hosted by a bunch of rich guys.
So why would a bunch of D.C. insiders try so hard to get a guy from Cleveland or Maryland elected to the U.S. Senate in Alaska? It's plain old business -- billionaires like the Koch Brothers, who recently shut down the Flint Hills Refinery in Alaska and laid off dozens of Alaskans while leaving a plume of underground polluted water, are looking for the best return on their investment. Alaska Senate elections are much cheaper to buy than say, Ohio, with much bigger populations that have to be mailed to, door knocked, phone called, and expensive Cleveland and Cincinnati media markets.
What are these billionaires after? They ain't doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. They want to pay smaller taxes so they can buy a few new corporate jets, yachts, Rolls Royces. How do they do this? They need senators willing to cut your benefits that you've paid for your whole life. That's why Dan supports slashing Social Security and Medicare benefits.
Last week Sullivan finally showed up for a fishing debate in Kodiak, surprising many of us who were getting used to him ignoring the largest industry in Alaska. When he was working for the federal government (the one we Alaskans love to hate), he actually lobbied for Europe to open up its markets for genetically modified salmon, aka "Frankenfish." Alaskans despise these fish since they carry diseases and threaten our fisheries. Sullivan tried to brush this off as him just doing his government job.
