AZ dog kennel deaths - senator's son isn't above the law after all.

This is the news those of us in the eastern fringes of the Phoenix metro area have been waiting for. Finally, indictments were handed down against 4 people responsible for the deaths of 23 dogs last June. One of those charged is the son of Senator Jeff Flake. The investigation has dragged on for 4 months and many were beginning to doubt it would ever come to this. Hall=-freaking-lujah!

"PHOENIX - Maricopa County court officials say four people have been charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals in connection with the June deaths of 21 dogs and the injury of four others at a Gilbert dog boarding facility.

Court officials said Jesse Todd Hughes, Malesia Maurine Hughes, Austin Lane Flake and Logan Flake were indicted Wednesday afternoon.

On June 21, 2014, more than 20 dead and injured dogs were discovered at Green Acre Dog Boarding facility near Greenfield and Queen Creek Roads in Gilbert.

The dogs apparently died after the kennel's owners, Todd and Malesia Hughes said one of the dogs chewed through a wire connected to the air conditioning unit shutting it off and causing the dog's deaths."

But Tood and Malesia (a.k.a. Maliar by those sympathetic to the dogs) lied. There was no evidence of chewing. The room was poorly ventilated and the dogs died of suffocation.

Those affected - and the community - are working to get regulations in place for kennels.

Flake started then out young, who do you think they want to shoot?

Get a good look at how the Flakes are living it up, with pictures and video:

Lifestyles of the rich and entitled, those dogs didn't mean a thing to them.

Enjoy our rulers if we don't vote them out. Sadly, as one poster on that thread said, they are Mormons, which may or may not give justification to them for any of what they do. Some Christians have empathy towards animals, others seem to have none.

We know how Romney regards Americans, and I hope this isn't the AZ mentality that voted this man into office.

Flake needs to resign and 'spend more time with his family,' as a poster said on one of the above threads. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that, he intends like most GOP to loot the public treasury.

These are scary people. I am not optimistic about how the charges will work out in the system. GOP lawbreakers hold the law in such contempt, this will likely be viewed as a badge of honor fighting the totalitarian government interfering in private affairs, no doubt. That's how the reichwing will spin this story.

Call me cynical, but I really thought they would skate with at most a misdemeanor charge. The whole thing makes me hug my dogs a little tighter and supervise them much more carefully when they are outside in the yard. I can't imagine losing one of them like that.
