Rush Limbaugh: Klain Is A "Conservative-Slash-Republican Attack Dog." On the October 17 edition of his radio show, Rush Limbaugh called Klain's appointment "pure 100 percent politics," accusing him of giving "political payoffs" and being a "conservative-slash-Republican attack dog." [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 10/17/14]
Fox's Geraldo Rivera: Obama Made A "Dumb Choice." Fox contributor Geraldo Rivera tweeted that Klain's appointment as Ebola "czar," was a "dumb choice," calling him a "political hack":

(19,566 posts)Vilifying every and anything the president does is what the Republicans do. It would have made no difference to them who he appointed, they would have picked the person apart to the bones. It's the sort of negativity their base responds to best and they know that. That's how they rally them to get out and vote. The sad thing is, it works.

(15,805 posts)and if Obama had made that mistake, and added yet another medical expert on top of the existing ones, then the Republicans would have another reason for not approving a Surgeon General during this crisis because we wouldn't have a pressing need for still another medical expert in charge of health issues.
Obama made the right choice in opting for an expediter, and Klain is an experienced facilitator who gets things done when working to coordinate the multiple different agencies, as well as the international aid organizations that are now trying to control this disease.

(14,308 posts)Reid took away the filibuster for presidential confirmations.
Reid can call a vote anytime he wants to and he only needs 50 of the 55 Democratic senators to agree with him.
The NRA has come out against the nominee Obama has nominated.
Supposedly as many as 10 Democratic senators have told Reid they won't vote to confirm the nominee.
Either Reid needs to call a vote or Obama needs to nominate someone else.
Reid's not going to call a vote before the election because the last thing Pryor, Landreaux, Begich or Hagan need right now is to pick a fight with the NRA.

I dont give a fuck about politics when it comes to a situation like this. This shit is real. People will die with this if it isn't handled correctly.

Shit, everything President Obama does pisses them off, even if it is something they should agree with. As Rachel Maddow pointed out tonite, four years ago they were screaming about how many "czars" there were. Last week they were screaming that we needed a czar to handle this problem, now we have one and he sucks, or he's the wrong one, or he has three eyes or some shit.
I couldn't give less of a shit what the conservative media thinks. I pretty much already know.
