A concerned conservative accused radio host Rush Limbaugh of not doing enough to motivate the GOP faithful during his show on Monday.
Whatever youre trying, Rush, is not working, said the caller, who identified himself as a Michigan Republican named Ted. You keep giving us hope, and we get our clocks cleaned. Five million less Republicans voted. Were losing!
Limbaugh responded that he was not trying to motivate the party, because he felt their candidates were only running to hang on to committee chairmanships.
I dont think the Republicans want a smaller government at all, he said. I just think they want to run it for a couple of years.

Its a good paying, easy gig.

(795 posts)He was the "golden child" of the GOP, and now he is no longer relevant. Colbert has twice as many people "liking" him on Facebook, and it's a younger demographic.

(14,857 posts)Limbaugh's job is to get an audience to tune into his show each day, so the advertisers can pitch their crap to them. He accomplishes that by putting on a performance that his audience enjoys. That is all.
