I Got 20 E-mails From Various Dems Today Begging For Money......

This has been going on for weeks now and everyday I get more and more. I donated already and I guess that puts me on some e-mail list that goes out to all different Dem organizations. They are coming from the President, Michelle Obama, Biden, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Bill Clinton, various Congressmen running in Illinois, Durbin and Quinn campaigns.

I'm sorry - but this is really getting annoying. They are going to piss people off and we're just going to stop giving if they keep on with this type of bother.

I want the Dems to win - but - come on guys - stop the begging already.

They're getting the funds for the last round of media buys. Just grit your teeth for a couple more weeks.

I spend five minutes or more everyday deleting them before I can begin to tackle my email.

They took the Senate and increased in the house.

Someone ran over your dog.

It was 20 phone calls a day.

It was October 2016.

It always sucks in the last days before an election-- grit your teeth until the 5th.

Oh, well, with any luck, in a few days the Democrats will be obliterated at the polls and you can remain blissfully oblivious to reminders that elections these days aren't won or lost on ideas alone, but also on money. Stinking tons of money.

Yes, it sucks, but it is what it is, and to be grousing about it this close to the election seems a little, well, odd, somehow. Still, we can certainly all look forward to the day when you won't have to sift through, uh, a whole score of e-mails per day that you don't feel inclined to respond to.

Please pace yourself, and if you feel giddy or lightheaded at any point, please go lie down. If you have the strength to post about your consternation here, though, before you get recumbent, please do share your angst before you doze off.

I, too, am another victim of this kind of annoying intrusion into my Inbox.

What I do - and I'm not saying this works for everyone - but what I do is delete the emails that I don't wish to respond to, or do not have the funds to donate to. Sure, it only takes ten seconds of my life - but that's ten seconds I'll never get back.

I mean, really, what's up with Democrats asking for money? Can't they just run TV, radio and print ads for free? Where do they get off asking us to support their counter-attacks on the Republicans they're running against? Can't they just do things on their own without my help?

Really, it IS getting annoying. Democrats asking - nay, begging - their fellow Democrats to support them. When will this madness end?

I have been a member of DU since 2004. I stand to be corrected, but I don't remember any OPs about "annoyance" with Dems attempting to raise money to fund their campaigns - until now. In the past week, I have seen several OPs on the topic. One can only wonder why such kvetching became popular. However, one need not wonder for long what purpose is being served in promoting the kvetching.
