Jealous Voter to Obama: "Don't Touch My Girlfriend"

As President Obama voted in Chicago on Monday, a man casually told him not to flirt with his fiancee, who was casting her ballot next to the president. "Mr. President, don't touch my girlfriend," the man said as he walked past.

"I really wasn't planning on it," Obama replied as the embarrassed woman, Aia Cooper, apologized. "Now there's an example of a brother just embarrassing me for no reason. Just for no reason. Now you're going to go home talking to your friends about this."

Obama ended the exchange by giving the woman a kiss on the cheek. "You're gonna kiss me, give him something to talk about," he said. "Now he's really jealous."

Cooper explained the encounter to WLS-TV later that day. "On the cheek, just the cheek-please, Michelle, don't come after me—just the cheek!" she said.

if it's just a cute story about obama interacting in line while voting, then the headline need not mention that particular question, even if the story highlights it. the headline could be "obama deftly handles challenge" or "obama votes" or "voters chat in line with obama" or whatever.

the headline is important because many people won't read or see the story (like me in this case!) and even those who do will pass it around to others, who will only see or head about the headline ("hey, did you hear someone told obama to keep his hands off his girlfriend?&quot and who then want the rumor to turn into "seriously? i knew he was a creep but he actually got caught groping someone in line?"

this is what i mean.

I think the President AND the other two participants all handled it well. I think it was funny that the boyfriend started the exchange to begin with. I mean, it probably took some guts to pick on (all in jest, of course) the President of the United States.

The girlfriend is great, too. How many women have been embarrassed (in a comical way, of course) by their boyfriends.

It was cute!

I would want to say something lighthearted to Obama in that situation but would probably just stand there staring. Her boyfriend spoke up and now they have a great story. And Obama was great with them.

That is great he came out to vote among regular people (not that he isn't a regular people) and then he didn't get all huffy like how dare you peons talk to me. That is really cool. How many people get to vote and get a peck on the cheek from the President. I would be talking about that for years and I am not even all that impressed with status n stuff.

PS: this makes me wish I could vote for Obama again.
