Short summary: Amsterdam tried to get concentration camp survivors to pay back taxes on property after the war.

In fairness, though, the city did finally relent, so maybe Anne was right after all.

or place that serves hot food for the homeless and hungry every day. There are people that volunteer regularly and go above and beyond the call of duty and go out of their way to help people. Good citizens are everywhere. You just have to open your eyes and see them. More importantly, there's nothing stopping you from being one of those people.

The trick to overcoming adversity is not just surviving adversity but it's who you are when you come out the other side. Are you going to be defeated by being bitter over the experience or are you going to rise above that experience and become a better person? The choice is yours.
