One thing some people in our electorate have shown is they know how to talk loud and complain but can't do too much else.
On Maher's show this weekend, Cornel West, John Avlon and Mary Matalin fought over which political reality should win.
Two of the three in the discussion used facts to back their assertions. One did not.
Bill Maher tried to use Paul Krugman's column as the baseline for the discussion of whether or not Obama's presidency is the disaster Matalin and West claim it is.
John Avlon injected reality toward the end of the segment.
Rather than argue for who is right or wrong, I'll leave it to you.
(Maher then jokingly called out Avlon for bringing facts into the discussion)

(16,254 posts)I've always believed they gave Romney a false sense of security when they tried to boost his poll numbers, but look at the shock at the end.
Lying doesn't make it true, so they should live with reality and forget the stupid Rove political ploys. Look where that's gotten them in the past. Of course, it helps if you are planning on playing with the votes on election day.
Just sayin'.

(14,733 posts)So I see absolutely no problem with any Democrat who IS on the ballot in a red state distancing themselves from him. And he does those Dems no favours when he comes out and makes statements saying 'they vote for his agenda'.
If you're in a state that loves him, more power to you, hug him tightly, have him campaign for you. If not, keep your distance, and just tell voters what you actually believe in - fair pay, everyone being able to actually get healthcare, etc, without throwing his name in where it will only hurt you.
Stay to the left of the Repub, tell voters you'll work on the issues they care about. Be for the things they say they want in polls. And get re-elected by actually working for those things once you're in office, not just saying you will.
