I don't think he ran his face into a tree in the woods.
Just sayin'

(12,769 posts)It is precisely because of this type of thinking that our law enforcement officials are becoming brutal thugs.
Stop justifying police brutality even when you personally don't like the suspect.

(131,197 posts)I do not 'justify' police brutality; my response was purely emotional. I recognize that laws are intended to curtail 'vigilante justice' and people taking the law into their own hands.

(131,197 posts)I do occasionally express highly emotional responses here, among my friends at DU, but only rarely.

(68,644 posts)That one might imagine a bit of that justice being felt by the man is not a bad thing does not mean that police misconduct is thereby being condoned.
In all likelihood, the gentleman resisted and brought it on himself and I hope that the police men or women who encountered him are uninjured.

(12,769 posts)And yes, condoning one incident does condone police misconduct.

(68,644 posts)Nothing in the post that caught your attention mentions police.
The gentleman might have encountered a citizen, a non-police citizen, at some point prior to arrest and apprehension.
He might have tried to gain entry into a home or automobile, or tried to relieve a good citizen of their bicycle or scooter and received a bit of a whipping.
Nothing wrong with that, he earned it.
Have a peaceful day.

I think he just though survivalism was a good strategy until he actually had to do it.
Not fun, Eric, not fun.
I'm still struck by how much the pictures of him before he got all beat up in the woods make him look like Timothy McVeigh. They could be brothers.

(14,691 posts)on another thread. I don't think it happened exactly accidentally, but I don't think it was a beating. I agree with another poster on that thread, that he was "face planted" when they arrested him. He'd be worse off if they beat him.
