Simple question. Oddly enough there is only one answer. Poll ends today when the poll ends.

(48,181 posts)I brought all my illegal ebola infected isis terrorist friends with me too. Plus some zombies left over from Halloween. I met an acquaintance, who through no fault of his own (oxygen deprivation) is Republican, waiting on line and I helped him out by advising him that he could come back tomorrow.

It did not deter us - and there were a LOT of Dems voting this AM in Maine.

(9,002 posts)I was expecting to be number 1 but there was a surprisingly large crowd.
Very odd for my ward during a midterm. Considering that most of the people on the ballot were running unopposed it was rather shocking.
I initially thought it may be for governor but it just dawned on me that the crowd was there to vote on Question 3.

(146,317 posts)I was voter #116. My wife was #118.
I recognized half of the poll workers from my small precinct, including one close neighbor. Elections are local. That's why I like to vote in person in my local precinct.
Finally, there was a bowl of leftover Halloween snack-sized candies next to the optical reader machine, along with the I Voted stickers. I took one of each.

Lawd, not quite the landslide we imagined.
On the brightside, it's a beautiful, sunny day.

(6,324 posts)A Democrat volunteer was hanging out voter guides, very handy for the "non-partisan" judicial races here.
I chatted with him a bit and asked if he wanted some coffee, he said somebody else had offered to get him some a few minutes earlier and was already out getting it.

Turn out looked very good, considering it was after the morning before work rush. And it was raining pretty good.
Not many dem folks electioneering outside, I think they know they got this polling place in the bag and send those people elsewhere.

(50,276 posts)For the first time in nearly 20 years of voting in my small New Hampshire town, there was a line at the polls. I was encouraged. And then I overheard a conversation between 2 older people in front of me. They were talking about how wonderfully patriotic the Tea Party is, protecting the Constitution, yada, yada, yada. Then they talked up the nutbag running against Annie Kuster. I was rolling my eyes at this point, but had yet to utter a sound. Then the woman starts snickering about how even Democrats don't want Obama to campaign with them. BOOM! I snapped and told them in no uncertain terms they should have had him campaign with them because he has done plenty of things to be proud of and I began rattling them off. The old guy immediately starts yelling about he's a veteran and I don't know anything. To which I say, if he's a veteran he should be voting Democratic because Republicans always vote against benefits for veterans. At this point he began channeling Sean Hannity and muttering something about "triple dipping veterans" (whatever that is). My parting shot was "Obamacare saved my life" which startled him for a second until he managed to yell "good for you." At this point I realized there was a second line I could be in and moved. The stupidity has practically given me a migraine.

(3,290 posts)raining at 8:00 this morning. There seemed to be
quite a few more voters coming in as I left.
I think the poll judge must be a democrat as he thanked me for voting as I exited and we know republicans try to discourage that voting thing.

(31,849 posts)spent the better part of the morning shuttling folks to the polls!
As I mentioned in another thread ...
On my second trip, I ferried a set of 92 year old African-American sisters (twins). They told me that have voted in every election since the passage of the VRA. They thanked me, as the one sister had just stopped driving, and they were concerned that they wouldn't be able to get to the polls.
On another trip, I shuttled a group of 18 and 19 year olds, who were voting for the first time. From their conversation, it seems they were motivated to vote because " Martha) McSally was going to make it so they couldn't afford to continue in school." (That was a Ron Barber ad!)
