Weve got 10 races as of this morning that are inside the margin of error and so I dont know whats going to happen tomorrow night, but Im hopeful and it wont be for lack of effort from the RGAs perspective, Christie said, adding, Now its up to the candidates.
Christie says local issues decide state races and that elected officials serving in Washington can escape local scrutiny.
Its the reason he gave for the possibility of the GOP losing governor's races, but winning control of the U.S. Senate which polls indicate could happen.
Governorships are much different than being in Washington, you know, with all due respect to the folks in Washington, most people dont know who they are, (but), your governor, you know who he or she is, Christie said. So those races are always much more decided upon local issues than any kind of national wave.

And I believe he sees any campaigning for others as campaigning for himself. Perhaps he smelled a loss and did not want to be associated with it.

"They also reported that Christie was in the Philly 'burbs Sunday stumping for Corbett and he idiotically repeated the "unpopular" meme and how he was glad that the President was here for Wolf with the assumption that doing so was a losing strategy. That's how you now that the GOP continues talking to empty chairs in a world where up is down and left is right. The reality is that if this was true, Rmoney would have won PA."
