Wisconsin pre-election voter turnout --*double*--2010 number, 506,000 votes cast

A Positive start to the day with a total of 2.1 million votes cast in 2010 we certainly have an engaged electorate.

At least 11 states have exceeded their advance voting totals from the last midterms in 2010, with several more poised to do the same as voters return more absentee ballots and officials tally the final days of in-person advance voting.

In 2010, when Republicans regained control the House and swept into power in statehouses across the country, 26.9 million or about 30 percent of the total 89 million ballots were cast before traditional precincts opened.

Here's a look at where some other states with key races stand this year:

I hope to see that the age of political apathy is over.

I've seen it recently posted here in the form of OPs and cartoons... and what my parents always told me,

"If you don't vote, you forfeit your right to complain."

The Cook County suburbs tend to be the most Democratic as well, and obviously Chicago is lop-sided Dem.

Hopefully, that's good news for Quinn.

and not just a shift in method of voting...

The polling place I attend, in a reddish purple ward, was busier than usual for a mid-term with all 8 voting booths busy a bit before 10 am and a short line.

Several state offices had only republican and libertarian candidates running.

So that fell to writing in names.
