Dems Plan To Ask For Longer Voting Hours In Conn. Amid Polling Problems

Source: TPM

After several problems and delays at polling places on Tuesday, Connecticut Democrats planned to file a complaint to extend voting hours, the Hartford Courant newspaper reported.

"Because of delays and other problems at Hartford polling locations, we are filing a complaint in Hartford Superior Court asking that voting hours be extended to accommodate voters who were unable to vote or were discouraged from voting this morning," a spokesperson for Gov. Dannel Malloy (D) told the Courant.

When polls opened across the state Tuesday morning, election workers discovered they were missing voter lists, the newspaper reported. The setback resulted in delays across the state capital's 26 different polling stations.

The race for governor between Malloy and Republican Tom Foley remained one of the most competitive in the country going into Election Day.

There was a year we used electronic voting, but after 2000 everyone went to paper ballets

"Strange" how all of these voting problems negatively affect Democrats.
