TAMPA Heading into todays election, more than 3 million Floridians have already voted at early voting sites or by casting absentee ballots in what polls continue to show as a governors race too close to call.
The unprecedented number of pre-election day votes in a non-presidential year may suggest a higher-than-normal voter turnout, officials and political strategists said. They said the Charlie Crist-Rick Scott governors race, the most expensive political campaign in Florida history and one of the nastiest, may have driven voters to the polls.
Analysts from both parties contend the partisan breakdown of those who have already voted shows an advantage for their candidate, but polls continue to suggest the winner will depend on which sides turns its voters out.
According to the Florida Secretary of States office, 3,066,735 people voted early or by absentee through the final day of early voting Sunday 26 percent of Floridas 11.9 million registered voters.

Scott leads Crist 48 percent to 47. Libertarian Adrian Wyllie had 4 percent of the vote.
... but thirty-three percent isn't very reliable.
