My apologies. This was posted earlier too but probably lost in the third page of today's posts.
I was feeling a little ill about all the premature projections, I guess.

(8,028 posts)Thanks for the k and r, 2naSalit. I didn't intend to point a finger at you... I appreciated your reply. I was just wondering why the thread was getting so many views without a single rec.
I didn't realize that the 'election results doodle' had been already posted. That explains a lot.
I drove 20 miles today, in a solid red state, to exercise my right to vote the 'D' and weigh in on the proposed amendments. I was surprised by and impressed with the convenience of finding the google 'election results' doodle upon my return from voting.
Oh well, I'm glad I took the time to vote in this election, regardless of the outcome in Utah. DU just doesn't have the same feel that it did back in the day....
Thanks again, 2naSalit.

(86,612 posts)I meant to rec but... I guess the warmth of that single malt shot was just kicking in!
I have been unemployed for the last 48 hours and had the pleasure of early voting b mail here in Montana. Have a long drive to begin tomorrow so I am only having "one for the road" tonight. I find it hard to watch election nights anymore. It feels more like watching the space shuttle falling from the sky like in 2004.
At least a good long stretch of highway awaits me tomorrow. I used to drive long-haul so this will be mildly comforting, until I cross into CA where all the traffic will change everything.
Hopefully elections go well in your state. I have most of my hopes wrapped up in my state legislative district this time around. The guy I voted for is a pal, I hope he wins.

I am only going for a week, need to visit my mom while she's still lucid. She's not doing too well. I have every intention to come home to MT ASAP. I had had enough of CA over 20 years ago. I just don't like going there or being there, and the only reason I am going is to see my mom.
Next chapter upon my return is get some UI and see if there's something to get paid for during the winter, if not I'll get more time to ski. When summer rolls around, I'll go back to work if Congress doesn't shut down or sell off the national parks.
