I have to fucking get this off my chest.

Fuck those lying, thieving, democracy destroying, psychopathic GOPers and the conservative SCOTUS and their citizens united, voting rights act, voter ID bullshit!

What the fuck is the matter with this nation? Things aren't getting better, they're getting worse, and as hard as we try and yell and cuss, no one is doing shit about all the criminality going on with the banks, politicians, and anyone that breaks the law as long as they're filthy rich.

I'm so fucking pissed off right now I can't see straight. My blood pressure is sky high. I need to take it easy.

I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired! FUCK IT!!!

that the rich and powerful have over our "so called" Democracy is to put everything we have into demanding/fighting for Publicly Funded Elections! We have to take away their ability to control the politicians we send to Washington. Outlaw campaign contributions and Super PACs. After that's done we bust up the big banks and the media oligopolies.
It's come down to voting for which one of their puppets gets to be the apparent leaders of our government and country. No matter who we vote for, they win, unless we get behind someone like Bernie Sanders. Most here still want to play the game and elect Hillary, a person on a first name basis with all of the power players. It will take more crap before they are fed up like the rest of us here are. I hope they don't wait too long to see the truth, our climate is not getting any better.

Control mechanisms and media psyops are much more subtle now. They marginalize everything and everyone that doesn't serve their corporate vision bot by eliminating them but by making them invisible in the mass media.

They don't need concentration camps - they can already spy on everyone in the country.

They don't need death camps - they can passively cull the herd by making health care basically inaccessible to the "undesirables." Goldman can always engineer commodity shortages as necessary as an adjunct.

One similarity is that the militarized police are starting to look an awful lot like the Gestapo.

Canada does look nice, if they can get rid of Harper.

Just hang in there, UB. We survived Reagan and Both Bushes and here we be.

If it gets as bad as I think it might get, the People will have their say in other ways; this vote, I feel, does not reflect the People's thinking, but reflects their uncertainty about whom to believe.

Democrats can't seem to sell their message because, in my state at least, they are trying to look like Republicans.

Allison Grimes is a perfect example. She threw Obama under the bus to act more awesomely right wing, and she got fuck all for the effort.

I do not feel we got people to the polls.

This vote reflects a nation-wide constituency that doesn't know what the hell to think.

I'm in my 60s, seen it many times. The balance and checks given us by the founding fathers will protect us for the next two years via the filibuster and the presidential veto. At worst the next two years will represent little to no progress, but not a disaster.

Democrats have not had 3 successive terms in the White House since the 1950s. Today's media is bought and paid for by Big Money, half of the country is fit for the loony bin, and the nails that do stick out in the Democratic Party get hammered down pretty quickly.

as they are now.

But I remember riots in the '60s, and there will be riots again if severe austerity measures become the rule.

It's not conjecture, it's just that there is so much poverty, so many people working their asses off and getting behind even as they do.

There are more guns out there.

There is more fear and paranoia out there. Stoked.

There are so many poor people incarcerated.

When the media told you that Ferguson issued 23,000 warrants for 21,000 people - 3 warrants for every household - they were trying to slap you in the face with the fact that poor people are being sucked up - just like in a vacuum - to feed the for-profit justice systems in place in towns like Fergusons.

And it is heartbreaking that more Centrist dems don't give five fucks.

Because we are creating an underclass of people we warehouse in filthy cells, not intent on rehabilitation to help them function in society, but intent on providing job security and profit.

It's adding another heavy burden on families for court fees, lawyers, probation fees, jail fees, phone calls and gas for visits so that children can see their fathers and mothers, not to mention the loss of breadwinners, their taxes and presence in their families' lives

There is so much brewing beneath the gentle facade, I'm afraid.

I won't be rioting, too old. But if I were younger it would be hard to not just give up.

That's what I see with my eyes, but I actually talk to poor people.

So scary, that.

People are getting homeless quick and getting un homeless slow. Shit is bad, the end is nigh, I wish it wasn't but it is the case.

Good insight about the gentle calm. Things are going to pop and I hope that I am reincarnated as someone cool.

Over the next two years, the country is going to learn a lot about the Republicans. That could work in our favor for 2016. Thank goodness there aren't enough of them to override presidential vetos.

How can people claim to be disgusted with Congress and still vote for the party responsible for the dysfunction? It is truly frightening.

Who the hell even made up this idea? Where does it say in the Constitution 'there shall be two parties ...'?

We need something much more like a Parliamentary System, with at LEAST 5-6 parties, one where all views are represented. Not this 'Here, everyone get's to choose between two equivocating parties ... that NOBODY really likes' BS.

I wish I could chalk it up to 'All this election PROVES is that >50% the people who showed up to vote in 6 states ... are mouth-breathing, brain-washed, Faux-Watching knuckle-draggers', but the reality is, it goes MUCH deeper than that. Nearly 1/2 the country are this way. This is proof that lies and propaganda ... work. This election shows that a great many people in this country ... are actually either morons, or they are evil.

And what's funny is that they claim an ACTUAL great, good man, Jesus of Nazareth, as the person they claim to worship and emulate. In fact, Jesus was teh greatest LIBERAL to have ever lived. And you mouth-breathers ... you only WISH you could be ACTUAL 'good, compassionate, honest, loving human beings'. You gravitate to 'Jesus' as such a beacon and that's because of the terrible EMPTINESS, the EVILNESS, the SOULLESSNESS that actually describes YOU ... you WISH you could be someone like Him. Meaning ... you WISH you could be something like a Liberal. So you HATE all of us ACTUAL Liberals, the people who Jesus would've actually called 'friend', were He here today.

You're being manipulated into doing the bidding and empowering the most supremely UN-JESUS-LIKE people that the world has ever known ... but I suppose you see your own reflection in the leaders of the GOP. You, and they, are the same sort of empty, soulless beings ... wishing you could be Jesus ... wishing you could be ... a Liberal.

I am in Seattle tonight but live in the Portland, OR area. I am thankful I am from the Northwest, but I am an American first. I guess the majority of the American people learned nothing from the Bush/Cheney mess, and we seem to be hell bent on going back to what we must think of as the good old days of the Bush era. Over and over the press kept stating that Pres. Obama had only a 41% approval rating. They never talked about that Congress had a 13% or lower rating. I feel like we have made it okay to be overt racists and to hate others with differing opinions and to always be in fear. The Republicans even made the people believe Obama was responsible for ISIS and Ebola. Why do the American people think it is the Republicans that keep us safe? Wasn't 911 on Bush's watch? I guess Obama needed to find another country to invade. Maybe that would make the American people happy. It has taken years for my disabled Marine son to get back to a somewhat normal life after his tours in Iraq. I am sick of Republicans and the chaos and hatred they bring to our country. Who could elect Joni Ernst and Brownback, etc.?!? Sigh!!

I think it is time to acknowledge that uniting the North and the South is a three hundred fifty year-old failed experiment. Next time any political leader in the South mentions that they want to secede, we should jump at the opportunity to untangle the country from the Red states.

This country cannot have clean air, water and earth in many states, because Republicans. This country cannot have science in many states, because Republicans. This country cannot have rational, thoughtful, logical gun regulations, because Republicans. Women cannot exercise control over their own bodies in many states, because Republicans.

And, after this election, it will get significantly worse. We could save the country by simply letting the Red states secede.

Personally I see a difficult retirement, with no Social Security or Medicare. At least I won't have to live long, as is their plan.

I'm anxious to see what the real cause of the R sweep is. I think the gains in the House can be explained by recent gerrymandering and the voter suppression laws. Gains in the Senate are a combination of voter suppression laws and the fact that these are just Red states and we didn't have much of a chance anyway.

What kills me is the governorships. Massachusetts - one of the bluest states in the country - elected a Republican, as did Illinois.

All of this is exacerbated by low voter turnout among those who can think. The Republican lemmings came out in force. The moderates and independents stayed home because there was nothing to excite them to the polls.

Mid-terms just suck for the more progressive party. It's just not in our DNA to go out there and pathologically vote like conservatives do. This is some DNA we need to develop.

The voter registration drives for the 2016's should start right now. No time to lick wounds.

They will snap our unions like twigs like they did in Wisconsin. We will all be happy to be paid for any itinerant work. I hate to be so pessimistic but these mid-term election debacles are destroying me. When I die, I know I will not be missed.

This all started with Kathleen Sebelius' catastrophe. It will end with old Hillary and Lisa Madigan for Governor of IL. I have never felt this hopeless before. CNN's exit polls had some interesting but scary stats. 10% of blacks (who were 12% of all voters) voted Republican. 36% of Latinos (8% of voters) voted Republican. What needs to be determined is why these people felt compelled to voted against the party that supports them most.

These are for the house races. Senate races are kind of all over the map but 6 to 10% of black voters still voted Republican, even in the deep south.

I told them that Russia is a bully while Obama is a good person and that other people can see that. There wouldn't be problems in the Middle East if it wasn't for George W. Bush invading a country and starting all the violence over there. And that he did a very good job fixing healthcare and the economy (also George W. Bush) they just won't recognize it and give him credit because they are such haters.

I try to fight the good fight but I am outnumbered kind of like our voters

Yeah, that's what the Republican rank & file do. Don't be surprised. Our very existence bothers them to no end. They are like dementors in Harry Potter because they draw strength from our pain. If Democrats had a mass die off, they would then make new teams and play again.

At the moment it would be fine with me if President Scott Walker tried to "divide & conquer" Vladmir Putin and got the whole planet annihilated. As long as it is quick and almost painless.

You are clearly a better person than they are. Might as well stick around and maybe find some happiness somewhere somehow.

If Democratic politicians had given us DEMOCRATS to vote for the numbers might have been different.

Given the choice between a Republican and a Republican slightly lite, the voters will say fuck it and do anything else.

That same Benedict Arnold tactic "backfired" on Al Gore when he tried to distance himself from Clinton back in 2000!

that they do not care about you...

Somehow they have kept us engaged to this point as if we had any shot at democracy and common sense.

Some of us will stay engaged, but it might be a waste of time

If the KOCH bros want to kill Women, I think they are going to get to do just that.

But I will fight them, with everything I have

They remind me of a woman "physically abused" and beaten by her husband or boyfriend. All he has to say are a few nice words and she's going RIGHT BACK TO HIM! How can people ignore what the Republicans have done to this country over the past decade? Yet they're GOING BACK FOR MORE! Pathetic!
