The mid-terms as a barroom knife fight!

A college friend of mine worked a summer job as an emergency room orderly in a hospital near Tinker AFB in OK. As you might guess, paydays were basically a poor man's version of The Red Wedding; there were always injuries from fistfights, knife fights and broken bottle fights to patch up.

But, as my friend said, the worst wounds were from knife fights where there was one knife between two people. It seems each participant felt that he or she needed to get in as many jabs / cuts as possible when the knife was in their possession.

I think you're getting the idea. Possession of the deadly weapon has passed to the Republicans, who will now feel obligated to do as much damage while the knife is in their possession.

We know they're going to do damage: To the poor, to working people, to women, the economy and to the Constitution.

The only real question that remains is: Is all this repairable, if and when we regain control of the Senate?

I say if and when, because in this election we've seen the awful, dark power of money, dark or otherwise. I don't know if even a demographic shift can save us in 2016.
