They had complete power in the 8 yrs before the 2 worst crashes in history in 1929 and 2008 with their big tax cuts on the rich and deregulations of banks and mortgage industry, and they cant wait to try it for a 3rd time.

My heart is totally broken. My husband is white but he's well educated, informed and an excellent critical thinker. But seriously white people did this and I just don't get it. The only other explanation is fraudulent recording of electronic votes. To me, the latter option makes more sense.

It has been the rejection of Obama the man and the mission, which was our mission, that led to this. America had a great chance to get behind him from the beginning and embrace the vision he has had for us.

And the support has been behind him, so far behind him as to be non-existant, when he said in 2007 that he could not do the job alone. Yet he was left the burden alone and all the abuse one can imagine.

The vision was blown off by feelings of entitlement and a desire to be popular by joining the media industry of Obama hate to be seen as clever. That man has more brain power and heart in his little finger than most human beings.

And he - and that vision, more importantly - was shat upon by the high and mighty and those who wanted their favor. Most did not realize whose meme they repeated or why it was out there. And shit still rolls downhill which some seem to have forgotten. I predict nothing good from this, it's my forecast for a generations. This isn't about just one election.

It was years in the making and portends of worse to come. I wished good luck on another thread but now think that is just some of my own magical thinking.

That is so true. What a complete waste of a great opportunity all due to the incredible stupidity and laziness of people.

I curse one and all of both parties and all stripes for being so fucking bloody stupid as to beat down on that good man.

Fuck you all very much, each and every one of you who had a part in doing this. And you know who you are, you jelly brained spineless shits.

out after the fact that Al Gore did in fact win Florida. It will be too late to change the makeup of Congress but if it can be proven there were shenanigans maybe the way we do voting can be fixed before 2016.

They set the bullshit narrative that the ACA hurt people. And did we push back and point out it is saving thousands of lives and saving seniors from the costs of the Medicare donut hole? No.

This resulted in SCHOOLTEACHERS voting Republican because they are worried about the ACA. Read what Mary Landrieu is up against in this CNN article that quotes a retired school teacher:

(no pun intended)

but ever since 2008 I have heard over and over and over about who voted for Obama.
but who votes GOP? what does that demographic look like?

I'm not expecting much of the electorate to be fed the same kind of information that people who usually vote in a forum like this one have at their disposal but ....

seriously, people can't ignore this part of the puzzle. A lot of the GOP vote is against Obama. Who he is, what he represents in their eyes, even if it is not reality.

nearly every GOP candidate sucked. And the Democratic challengers didn't put up enough of a fight. But something makes me wonder even if they had, would they still have a chance....

about their race and living situations of the ones who are for "purity" and oppose centrist red state dems. They rarely live in red states or suffer much from republican policies. They can let others suffer from tea party policies very easily to teach them a lesson.

I think there's lots of white privilege among hippies. They live in a completely different world.
