There are two senators for each state so there is nothing to reapportion. The House seats won't be reapportioned until 2022 since the census occurs in April and several states hold primaries prior to the census.

The 22 Republican seats are mostly in hardcore red states......... just a couple that we might be able to flip. And Harry Reid is up in Nevada which could go badly for us.

This was updated just a hour or so ago.

Nor did it reject "Liberals".

Hell, listening to Republicans giving victory speeches would give one the impression that it was a big win for the working class.

There were blue collar types who "believe in working for a living" and voted against "the food stamp party" or "the welfare party" or voted to stop the Negro Islamic army from stealing their guns and Bibles and making their daughters marry Mexicans.

You know,...Mexico,...that desert where Isis is running around in pickumup trucks and let's all thank Jesus H. Christ on a cracker for redneck Texas sheriffs on FOX "News".

tarnished silver threads. Rethugs have 250 seats...historical is scope. It would take 2 VERY SUCCESSFUL election cycles to overcome it as a BEST CASE SCENARIO. of the 22 seats in 2016, almost all are in red states. Very little chance of serious gains. In short, we are looking at a decade or more of misery. This could put the dems out in the cold for a VERY LONG TIME.

I will likely never see a Dem majority again in my lifetime. We will likely be at boots-on-the-ground war in the Middle East in less than 12 months. Hell, we'll likely give the whole damn country to Putin in the next 12 months. They love him so much.

And then you say this?????

We will likely be at boots-on-the-ground war in the Middle East in less than 12 months. Hell, we'll likely give the whole damn country to Putin in the next 12 months. They love him so much.

So what exactly are you saying here, that Obama is going to start a war? WTF!

Wed Nov 5, 2014, 03:58 AM
Nov 2014

doesn't change the fact that even if we won EVERY OPEN HOUSE SEAT in 2016, rethugs will still have a large majority. Doesn't change the reality that of the 22 rethug seats coming up in 2016, almost all of them are in solid red states. Best case is to hold any open Dem seats. Our chances of gains are very small.
31 Governor seats. We lost Maryland tonight. Dems hold only 15 state chief executive seats.

The comments you highlighted was my attempt at dark humor.

Not my point to huddle into a ball and cry and wail and cover my head in ash. My point is that we are at a VERY UGLY spot in history. We went from being on the rise in 2012 to being almost irrelevant in 2014. Not just irrelevant for an election cycle but likely for several. Congressional boundries will not likely be redrawn until 2022. We cannot assume that it would be anymore in our favor than the last one. State elections matter. Midterm elections matter. We didn't learn that lesson. We are going to learn the hard way how much it matters. I don't know all the answers but I am not foolish as to not realize we went from the frying pan to the fire.
