Reality....Florida is not a blue state, folks
Obama may have won the state without too much trouble....but Democrats (with the exception of Sen. Bill Nelson) can't seem to win elections on the state level. Not only did Scott win re-election, but the Democrats LOST seats in the legislature.
I guess you can call it a purple state in terms of chances a Democrat presidential candidate can win it... but the Democratic party has been largely irrelevant in Tallahassee since the mid-90s. It's not a blue state.
But, I will say this...living in this state for over 25 years now, the Democratic party here is probably the most disorganized and inept in the country. Sure, you can make a case about Republican tricks and slight of hands involving Diebold machines and voter roles. But the state Democratic party doesn't help themselves by always finding ways to lose elections by their own incompetence. They can't field viable candidates. The money isn't managed well. They make bad decisions. This isn't just one or two elections, it's a trend. And the fact they felt they had to recruit a former Republican that was pushed out of his party, and has the nickname "Chain Gang Charlie" in order to win pretty much shows how dumb they've been.
Next time the Democrats call my house and tell me to vote for a fake Democrat opportunist, I'm just going to hang up the phone. I voted for the lesser evil in this election. I won't do it anymore.
