is Nina Turner in Ohio. Sure, we lost the Senate seat here to the Rs and the Koch brothers owned the Iowa media for months and months. But of all of the races in the nation, I was hoping Nina would win the most. The urgency and the importance of a win by her was that it would mean a chance at cleaning up the screwed up election system in a large state. It is disheartening to see a state given such a clear choice to protect its voters' rights and not step up. The woman is a righteous warrior with the good of her state at heart. I've been so impressed with her. I just wanted to put my two cents on the table.

(50,271 posts)That's a real shame. Ohio needs somebody to stand up for the voters and it sure isn't the character in the position now.

Repubs swept Ohio races because the incompetent state party decided to run a guy for Governor who had skeletons in his closet that told voters he was an entitled ass, to whom the laws are for 'the little people', not for him. It's fatal to run a bad top of the ballot candidate in a midterm, because he causes too many people to just say 'screw it' and not go out to vote. And then all of the downballot folks get screwed.
