The Georgia and Iowa strategy of "no, we're really Republicans" really paid off, didn't it?

Yeah, lets go after that coveted ZELL MILLER endorsement, that'll really GOTV for the Democrats and energize voters. Lets also run far to the right to the president, that totally won't put us in any awkward situations, right?

Can we put the DLC/New Democrat Coalition/TurdWay/Blue Dog business to bed already? The Democrats didn't poach any white/male/rural voters from the GOP. The rural counties in GA came out even stronger for the GOP. If Democrats are going to energize the base, connect with new voters, and be truly competitive in the South and red states, we're going to have to go raw dog.

I really didn't connect with either of the candidates in GA, Michelle Nunn or Jason Carter. Sure, I voted for them, but the votes are more AGAINST the GOP than for either candidate. I thought the Nunn advertizing the Zell Miller endorsement was particularly sickening after the way he double-crossed Georgia's Democrats. He also endorsed the Republican candidate for Governor. I also thought the candidates were playing on family name recognition and a lot of voters were turned off by that. The GOP hit Carter hard on his lack of experience and leadership, and he had nothing to come back with.

I'm not sure they could have won down here with that strategy as long as there is so much money in the campaign. When I was in line to vote, two older white men spoke loudly in my direction (I was the only other white person in line, so maybe they assumed I was voting R) about how other people there might "vote early vote often" or that "other people didn't know what they were voting for" and spouted stuff they heard from the Neil Boortz talk radio show.... Their aggression and contempt was on very clear display.

8. And appealing for their votes is epic fail. The Dems will never get the white/male/middle aged vote.

Its a waste of resources to even try.

I did not see one Carter or Nunn ad that explained what they were for other than the usual platitudes.

I remember seeing a debate with Michelle Nunn and the teabaggers in the audience were booing and she stayed on the defensive the whole time trying to appease them, talking up her Bush connections and bi-partisanism and all that. There was absolutely no offense provided, no attacking Republicans on their failure.

He directly affected my life in a very horrific way.

To try to use him to snag votes from progressive people is self-sabotage.
Allison Grimes did the same thing, throwing Obama under the bus so she could appeal to conservatives. She got nada for her traitorous ways.

The politicians ran here against Obamacare. We don't have it here and these rubes my age down here don't want it. They love dying young of diabetes and watching their kids' teeth fall out of their heads as long as that black guy in the white house isn't the one helping them.

So the Repukes latched onto Obamacare as their TN Willie Horton.

There are a lot of people you could have snagged in TN to vote, but the young people re absolutely disenfranchised. Obama has not made their lives significantly better, in their minds, even though it is the Repuke policies that are hurting them.

Appealing to them with a real platform for change was needed. Student debt relief, minimum wage laws, a public works program to repair dangerously failing infrastructure and create much-needed employment, alternative energy subsidies for the little person - all of these appeal to young people.

But Dems decided to appeal to people who already know whom they will vote for rather than having the creativity, insight or courage to reach people who aren't out of a '50s sitcom.
