of our Dem House members were re-elected. We got a larger majority in the state House and Senate. Marijuana legalization passed.
Bad news was the measure to set up state funding for college student loans failed. Also, the GMO labeling bill is failing, not by much but it looks like it will go down. The measure to give non-citizens drivers cards failed. I guess people did not understand that the cards could not be used to qualify someone to vote, etc. All it did was allow insurance companies to insure those drivers so that in case of an accident with an immigrant, you are not screwed.
Oh well, all in all it was a good night. We even got a liberal judge re-elected in Central Oregon.

(864 posts)As I went to bed last night after seeing Peter DeFazio kicking the crap out of a Tea bagger congressional candidate for the third straight time and knowing that all other Dems on my ballot won and legal pot passed easily; I wondered what the hell is going on in the rest of the country. I know: voter supression, Koch brothers money, etc. etc. but really? I'm sure there will be lots of analysis to read in the next month or so that will help to explain it (It's already started).

(297,237 posts)I've been watching Measure 92 and saw it went down by a slim margin.. maybe another time? They can't keep holding it back forever no matter how much money they spend. Can't believe the majority don't want to see what kind of food they're eating.
Congratulations.. we did pretty good in Hawaii, too.
