The Party of the People?

All my life, I have considered the Democratic Party the Party that best represents the interests of common folks.

Those interests were always represented by those representatives elected to the House of Representatives. They are the folks that are closest to the people.

Yet, when we look at the House of Representatives, we see it dominated by Republicans, the voices for corporations. Our forefathers put more power into the House of the people than the Executive Branch or any other part of government.

But our Party has lost the people's House. We have lost the foundation on which our Party stands. Until we can re-capture the House, politics is all an exercise in futility.
