How does this election effect you personally?

It's bad news for the entire world since we won't be addressing global climate change, we will be increasing our use of oil and gas instead of wind and solar, we will be dragging down every other economy as Republicans try to take us into recession by cutting programs.

That said - I'm probably OK on ACA - my youngest will age out of our insurance before the Republicans can change the law. But student loans? There goes any chance for any relief for at least another 2 years. And I still have 3 kids looking for work.

Millions can die overseas, but few here will sit up and take notice until a couple of Americans lose their beach houses.

We might actually default on something, which would send the markets and our 401(k)'s into a tizzy.

I also fear for my ability to purchase health insurance for myself and my children. I'm getting divorced, which will throw me off my wife's policy. At my age, I could develop a pre-existing condition any day. Both of my children already have them.

no doubt republican spending cuts will also further erode out infrastructure, so perhaps more potholes and flat tires.

oh, and if they win the presidency in 2016, i expect a full-scale depression by the early 2020s.

The Republican response to that would be to double down on spending cuts and tax cuts for the wealthy. That would only make things worse.

Americans want to be a bunch of self-absorbed, lazy assholes? Fine. You got the gov't you deserve.
Dismantle the social contract? I don't give a shit, I make 6 figures. Fuck y'all for being stupid.
I used to care. I've tried to tell the not-too-bright among my friends and family for years. They vote (R) anyway. I hope they enjoy being serfs in Teahadistan.

I advised my brown-skinned daughter first thing this morning to finished her MBA as soon as possible, polish up her passport and get the fuck out of the country, cuz we're goin' down.

I also have a 6-figure income and great health insurance. I don't need Dems in office, and in fact moving to an R state (Florida) substantially benefitted my lifestyle. So when I support stuff like the ACA, for example, it's not for me. It's for the little guys. But more and more it seems like the little guys don't appreciate it and don't give a shit.

Even though I live in Florida, land of the Reptilian Overlord (aka Rick Scott), the outcome that actually made me the angriest last night was the McConnell-Grimes race. That race was lost because of the ACA. Not because the ACA hasn't worked in Kentucky (it has been a model for the rest of the nation), but because McConnell trashed it in order to get elected. Kynect (or whatever it's called) IS THE FUCKING ACA in Kentucky, and the Kentucky voters love it when it's called Kynect. But the Kentucky voters are too goddamn ignorant to realize that when McConnell said he was going to repeal Obamacare, that he was telling them that he was going to repeal the Kynect care that they love, and which has been helping them and their state. In other words, they were too goddamn stupid to figure out that Kynect is Obamacare and act accordingly.

I saw a retired miner on an AlJazeera segment who 1) said that Kynect was the only thing that was keeping him alive and Thank God for Kynect, 2) made a face when Obamacare was mentioned and said he didn't like it, and 3) wanted Obama to come down and "see how he lived" so Obama could fix his problems for him (with more "entitlements", perhaps? or is that only what they're called when they're given to black people?). Seriously?

My husband and I were talking last night, and we both basically agreed that we are sick and tired of trying to fix that kind of stupid. Some people you just can't fucking help. You try to offer them a branch out of the swamp and they bite you and claw at you and demand to be put back in and use their last breath to call you a libtard as they sink back beneath the scum. This goes for all those rural county voters in my state too who insisted on voting back in Rick Scott, too. Florida is not kind to citizens who are not wealthy, and my household will not be one of those that suffers because Rick Scott refuses to close the Medicaid coverage gap.

TL;DR: You bought it, you own it. Have fun with that, morons. I hope the GOP keeps every campaign promise they made to you and then some.

50th, nationally, in wages, 49th in education, 47th in health care. According to the ruling junta, these numbers are just peachy key.

This would be a great area for solar, we get about 240 sunshine days a year but I never see any solar setups around like I did in Maine.

affect me, women's rights, and the LGBT community.

Also worried about losing my ACA insurance, and having the fucking heartless fascist republicans cut the budget at our non-profit yet again.

Because I live in the "red southwest", I am seriously considering moving back home to the Pacific Northwest, or possibly California; but at the top of my list right now is Hawaii.

Right now I find myself desperately just wanting to get as far away from Honey Boo Boo republicans as possible.

Fuckers gave us a 1.5% pittance last year and then cranked up the insurance cost this year so we actually lost money.

They continue to obstruct the ACA. And it's inevitable that they're gonna eventually allow guns on the University campus where I work, which is a super shitty idea.
