And now Obama becomes our last line in the sand

Thanks to a party that has largely been chewing at his ankles since he got in office. It is tragic that it has come to this, yet i find it somewhat amusing that all of the folks that have been trying to tear him down since he got into office because nothing was ever good enough, will now look to him to hold back the horror that is about to be unleashed by this republican congress.

The perfect has become the enemy of the good and we are about to see that demonstrated very succinctly.

He will not be able to block all of the horrors about to be pushed through but I thank god we have a president in charge that has never let polls make his decisions for him.

So in advance from me Thanks Obama! I am sorry your party did everything they could to find the downside in everything you accomplished.

I can only be grateful that he seems to be able to filter out that noise and plow ahead undaunted in spite of it.

Obama is only talking about areas of “overlap,” not acquiescence. This is not a man who sounds repudiated in the least…

The ones here are especially quiet today, aren't they, except for a few chirps here and there. The ones that ripped at Obama like it was a lullaby to them, the ones who disrespected a respectful man, a decent man. That was called a piece of shit. I'm hoping Obama does hold back some of the horrors we all know the GOP is capable of, but I am also hoping that some people would look at themselves and what they helped bring, all for a few minutes of high school popularity cheers.

a cooperative Congress, and the country let him down more than once (also in 2010). I don't blame the Democrats/progressives who did vote, but those who didn't (along with all the folks who voted GOP) only have themselves to blame if they don't get what they want. What else can I say...it's unfortunate that things have turned out this way for a president who is earnestly trying to get America on the correct path again. At least there's still the 2016 elections (when turnout is expected to be higher), and then reapportionment for all these gerrymandered House seats a few years afterwards.
