It's the voters

I am afraid we are underestimating the number of voters who have been brainwashed by the RW echo machine and conspiracy theory factories. Their adrenaline fueled anger makes for motivated voters - when there is low turnout they will show up. They have been taught that the solution to their angst and outrage is to vote Republican.

So far the Democratic strategists and politicians have chosen to pretend they do not exist or dismiss them as crazies. Meanwhile, more people are joining the "cult" aided of course by the RW media but also social pressures. Sharing anger through RW conspiracy theories has become a cultural bonding experience in some quarters.

Maybe it is where I live, but people I once thought to be sane and rational are now telling me that Muslims should not be able to vote or hold office and the Chinese now hold title to our national parks. And of course Obama is evil incarnate - and on and on.

Initiatives, which do not have a D or R designation and are considered on their merits seem to have done better for Progressives in this election.

Democratic politicians better face up to the fact that there is a powerful media machine, which includes the internet rumor mill, that has altered the thinking of many voters because it is a reality now. Some seriously crazy people have been elected to Congress this time.

now work toward making the Country better. However, I don't believe that's what they'll do. I believe they'll try to pass a slew of insane things like reducing benefits on Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, minimum wage, etc. and further reduce taxes for their wealthy friends and bankrupt the Country. If that happens, MAYBE it will be enough to wake up the idiots for 2016.
