I had to turn off Msnbc. Between Alex Wagner screaming and Tingles drooling...changed to AJ

It's like a breath of fresh air.

They are having calm discussions about what happened last nite.

They are spending a bit of time discussing voter apathy and started out the conversation with an outlined map of the US with a colored in section showing what % of eligible voters voted last nite and how much of the US was not colored in. It was quite striking.
It really put things in perspective. It was pathetic, actually.

Compare that to Alex Wagner on fire because President Obama said over and over during his presser that *gasp* only a small percentage of voters voted and that means that *his* voters didn't show up!!!!!11!!!!!! omg!!!!

One "news" channel is hyperventilating while another one is calmly discussing and reporting what happened, what this means and why the people who did show up to vote, voted for progressive policies and politicians that don't believe in those policies.

Just wanted to remind everyone how lucky we are as liberals. We HAVE a choice in what we watch.

Msnbc - I know your ratings are dropping. Sorry.

1. Right now they have on a Republican Strategist from Texas telling what they did

to win so big in Texas.

No one is yelling! The Texas strategist guy is telling in detail about their ground game, how Reince had hired 20 people over a year ago to set up in Texas and how successful their ground game was in comparison to the Dems.
It was actually interesting.

Hope DWS hears that interview.

I just can't listen to that post-game angst today. I turned off the TV and went outside and worked in the yard. The brisk fresh air was invigorating and great for relieving the blues.

Tonight I'm watching the country music awards. I don't even like country music, but it has to be more fun than MSNBC. LOL

Saw it coming and ducked. Can't bear the post-mortem. SICK in Wisconsin.

Look out America, the Weasel Walker is aiming to be on the 2016 ticket.

Once again, I weep for my state.

David Shuster and "Politics Man" from the former Current TV network. What a pleasure to hear no soap opera, just straight, intelligent reporting.

I could not get over that they were interviewing the Republican Party Chairman of Texas and they were having an intelligent discussion with him. It wasn't crazy. It was interesting. They were asking him pertinent questions. They engaged him in a conversation. There were no talking points.

Later they interviewed John Feery - who I can't stand. They asked him if he was aware of how low the republicans in Congress poll numbers were and what are Republicans going to do to turn that around.

How hard is that? There was no finger pointing, no name calling, just a conversation.

I'm so glad I was not the only one who discovered this.

10. Oh, I love watching ALJ

I started watching somewhat when it first aired, and it just keeps getting better. They have waded into the political arena, and I think Politics Man was a great addition, and now I see Libby (formerly from CPAN) also reporting. I really, really enjoy the absence of people like Sarah Palin and just getting the straight reporting. Over time, if people give it a chance, they will never feel comfortable again watching MSNBC.

Once I turned it on and a panel was sitting there of commentators that used to appear frequently on MSNBC until that network decided to bring in a host of young people. One of those commentators was Bill Press, who I really like.

Real Money is also great. Tonight they reviewed the U.S. production of crude and in that connection the pending Keystone Pipeline. The point was made that even if legislation were passed, State Department approval was needed because the pipeline crossed an international border. That impressed me they uncovered that fact and reported it; the recent Hill article left that part out. It made it appear McConnell would have a fillibuster-proof vote to pass approval legislation, implying that was all that was needed. Actually, the State Department makes a recommendation to approve or disapprove to the President, who can single-handedly give it a thumbs up or thumbs down.

And now they have their own version of a political analyst who breaks down the numbers very well. He reviewed the number of Republicans who do not vote, Democrats who did not vote, and the number of registered voters for both parties. He made the point clear, there are a lot more Democrats registered to vote than Republicans. I immediately thought and that is why Republicans feel compelled to block out as many Democratic votes as they can, otherwise they would NEVER win.

A really keen point he made this morning was showing how with so many not voting, this whole nation is govered by those who did and the rest of the country, the majority of which does not agree with the vote of those that showed up, are effectively under or misrepresented. The size of the conglomerate of those voting is like that of a small country. The votes of the small country govern a nation tremendously larger. Really sharp point. Really explains why so many are unhappy with our government -- it is our own fault because we do not show up every time there is an election. Showing up just to vote for President doesn't cut it ....

11. Yes! I have been posting that map everywhere!

I totally agree with everything you've said.

I have had it with the OMG media. Even Rachel Maddow has gone that route. She spent a week discussing nothing except Ebola when she should have been discussing, in depth, each candidate that is up for election.
Which is something that AJ did. They were actually playing clips of candidates on the campaign trail - repubs and dems.

The media is hurting the democratic party. Faux is controlling the talking points and then it trickles to CNN and then to MSNBC.

Enough!
