I am sure not everyone here loves Car Talk, but this is a very moving tribute to a funny, human man who will be missed by many. Maybe because my wife and I grew up in New England not far from where Ray and Tom got their start - early in our marriage Car Talk was a regular listen on our radio. Even now, two years into reruns, Tom and Ray accompany me on my Saturday morning shopping trips, and I find my day brightened by their infectious laughs.
Anyway- here is the link to the show. It ran yesterday - and there just happened to be an election going on, so you may have missesd it.
Enjoy!

BUT, I loved the show. Amazing how they made difficult car maladies seem so simple even to a dolt llike me. Very sad news...I didn't know.
Edit: I just listened to the audio....wonderful...it was a good time in my life and this posting brought back
those times plus how much I really enjoyed "Car Talk". Thank you.
Edit 2: I was in a different world there for a few minutes....too bad I don't spend more time listening to the good stuff rather than the frustating, depressing stuff like politics.

(29,672 posts)Thanks for this info.....and I love the show, miss him, but laugh just as loud and as often as when the show was live. Really made our Saturdays.

(6,622 posts)I'm looking forward to listening to it.
I, too, feel that it's just not a Saturday without Car Talk. It's the only way I get anything done around the house.
Even though the show hasn't been live for two years, it still will be different listening, knowing that Tom is gone.

(9,831 posts)loved this tribute by Terry Gross. I think all of the folks at NPR were extremely fond of Tommy & Ray, too.
