An exchange from FaceBook....

"Did it ever occur to you that (a) substantial number of Americans just don't like Obama's policies".....

Google searches:
90% of Americans want extended background checks for buying guns.
More than 70% want a higher fed minimum wage.
70% want more Fed money for education...particularly pre-school.
64 percent of Americans now supporting the ACA outright or backing small changes.
74 percent of Democrats, 56 percent of independents and 46 percent of Republicans favor tougher rules on banks and financial institutions.
73 percent of Americans want Citizens United overturned.
7 in 10 respondents oppose Roe v. Wade being overturned, which is the highest percentage on this question since 1989. ....

nope, never occurred to me.

These were found with simple google searches. If anyone would like to add more, please....knock yourself out.

I firmly believe every GOP vote was not for any particular candidate, but a vote against the black man in the White House. It's more complicated than just race, you say? Not much. It is true that most states in play were red already. But every GOP ad I've seen has been about Obama. Not one anti Hagan ad in NC mentioned anything about the problems of the state. Just "Hagen is Obama". She was responsible for "Obamacare"! (which is working in states that fully implemented it, unlike NC) She voted 96% of the time with Obama (not her party... but Obama himself! apparently) You'd think Kay Hagan was running the government from a secret undisclosed location! All this pearl clutching over a lame duck prez with only 2 years to go who cannot be re-elected! Racism, straight up.

relentlessly vilified our POTUS, and linked him in unsavory ways to those Democrats running in key races...

The Sheeple swallowed that garbage hook, line and sinker.

and "lack of leadership" of the "unpopular president" with "plummeting poll numbers." At least that's what the very serious "political analyst" with the screechy voice on News 4 said night after night after night and, of course, after the election when she was "proven right."

That person would probably deny- and sincerely believe it- that they were being at all racist saying that.

I am appalled at crap like the demonization of Obama. I am horrified that anyone thinks people should work full time and not be able to pay for even their basics. I am disgusted that anyone thinks others shouldn't have the basics of health care. I am depressed that so many older people have to live in poverty, even more than 70 years after Social Security came into effect.

It is especially disheartening that so many who hide under the mantel of "Christianity" are willing to cast their fellow humans out into the cold. I am not a person of faith, and yet I am too often surrounded by those who cloak themselves in faith and use that to shut out other humans. What is wrong with them? I don't get why they don't just live by the Golden Rule. I, who don't claim a connection to that particular holy book (or to any of them) somehow manage to do just that. What is wrong with so many who think, because they are "Christians", are better than the rest of us?

I just wish that they would actually live what they claim is their faith.

You're welcome.

But really it took like 10 minutes. I didn't even finish my cup of coffee doing it.

So why do so few not know them? And if they do, don't believe them?

The BS that Obama was unpopular worked like a charm for the GOP.

now that his party is in power in Congress. So I asked them when Republicans were going to get around to universal health care, fair trade law instead of free trade laws, minimum wage, expanding food stamps, adding a progressive tax structure, equal pay for woman, infrastructure spending, a jobs bill or you know anything on the Democratic agenda...

Apparently it turns out working together meant doing what the guys on Fox news guys tell him. If we start to burn both sides of the bridge we stand on then we're working together

Why legalization won, why Personhood amendments failed... If they all hate these "Obama policies" then why did the p[olicies win by huge margins?
