1. Easy Said

Though it's easy to say "keep calm", it's harder to actually remain calm when the next few years could spell disaster for you and your family. Any kind of deal worked out between the White House and Congress will more than likely be at the detriment of the American people. The President has, in the past, offered Republicans cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Isn't it natural to assume that, without Democrats in Congress to keep him in check, the President will again offer cuts to Republicans as some kind of bargaining chip? What does that mean to the people who depend on those benefits? Was it not through Congressional and Presidential cooperation that a large portion of the Bush tax cuts were extended?
