Republicans keep denying what they stand for, such as eliminating social support, denying women their rights, defunding public education, eliminating minimum wage, sending jobs overseas, propping up the rich. So my new answer to all their protests that they are humane representatives that want the best for everyone, is: Don't tell me. Show me.
Because, they can blather all day that they want to help the poor, continue building on an even playing field, support an educated workforce that have jobs. They can't show me.

(9,350 posts)Republicans moving to the left in order to get elected is one of the most under reported stories. For years Republicans have been running away from Republicans ideas to win their races. In 2010 many Republicans ran for office claiming they wanted to protect Medicare and Social Security from Democratic budget cuts. This year a number of Republicans abandoned ideas that were not popular with voters.

(9,350 posts)Before running for Senate in Colorado, Corey Gardner sponsored a personhood bill in the Colorado legislature. He also opposed birth control. Once he ran for Senate he claimed he no longer supported the personhood bill. He also ended his opposition to birth control and went as far as to say he thought birth control should be sold over the counter. Other Republican candidates did similar things this year.
