One of the MSNBC talking heads used this line -- meant to be a positive thing -- in her lead-up to John Boehner's hate conference...er, press conference...today.
1929. Hmm. Let that sink in for a moment. How did 1929 work out for us? If you have any money left after the Bush years, it might be time to stick it in the mattress. We might not even make it to the 2016 election!

(34,648 posts)We may just have to buy stuff in bulk. Cornmeal, salt, sugar, etc. it will be like we're homesteading.
I love reading Little House on the Prairie. And we have moose. I better find out how to make booze to drown my sorrows in and grow some 'medicine'. I'm in a red state, so we will be shoeless and living in tents soon.

I figure another rethug wave can only translate into another crime wave, mostly by neighbors, co-workers and hired contractors.

or they could have mentioned that election, which was in 1928. either would have sounded less ominous.

In 1928 they bought a new combine, paid off half of it that year.
Took them SIXTEEN years to pay off the other half.
16.years.
I sure hope they don't screw it up that bad this time.
