2. After two more years of gridlock

(if we assume the President just vetoes everything) the GOP will run on the same notion again. That the only way to end gridlock is to hand the White House to Republicans.

If, on the other hand, the President doesn't veto everything, Republicans will pass all sorts of crappy RW legislation, and proudly proclaim that handing Congress to the GOP did 'end gridlock', and that obviously they need to be rewarded even more.

Lose-lose for the left and for the country.
