The Republican(t)s are flipping geniuses

Let me preface my remarks by saying the economy is not stellar but everything is relative. Compared to the shape it was in during Bush*'s Great Recession it is stellar.

But the Republican(t)s have convinced folks it is in worse shape now then it was before and are motivating folks to vote against Democrats because the President Obama has mishandled it and is discouraging Democrats from voting because he hasn't done enough.

9. I understand the difference between the headline number and real unemployment

I understand the difference between the headline number and real unemployment and the pain the latter entails. But it's distressing to see the media conveniently discover that real unemployment exists outside of the reported headline numbers and poo poo the real gains made in reducing unemployment.

11. I agree, but sadly, there was no couterpoint to this view.

Nobody was saying "look, it is far from perfect. We need to make progress, but we are on the right direction. Look where we started 6 years ago" and certainly nobody was pushing a positive message. Increasing minimum wage is necessary, but it is NOT an uplifiting message, particularly for the millions of us who earn more than $10 an hour (often with less than 30 hours a week).

7. No, they're nitwits.

And we should deal with the fact that the electorate soundly sided with those nitwits in this election.

nearly as much as an electorate unwilling/unable/so frozen with FEAR as to analyze, dissect then Reject the Million dollar ad buys in print and electronic media, mailers, robo-calls etc.
It's Human to believe the "bad stuff" over the "good stuff" even if it's not true. The GOP understands that and has been manipulating Americans for Decades....by tapping into FEAR. We have not yet, en masse', been able to think critically about the fact that those who invest the Most money in the Electoral Manipulation Scheme--are the very ones who should be Rejected and Voted out-that They are the very ones who should be, in reality Feared the most and with good reason.
REEFER MADNESS is the perfect example of how Well FEAR works.

Add to that, the weak-kneed, corporate Dems--who apparently, are also manipulated and controlled by both dirty money and fear-who ignore their base(s) and do Nothing but the Same things over and over again, while begging for our support based upon political talking points and--toward the end--downright intimidating and threatening to the point of messaging "STAY HOME-Don't Bother Voting-It's ALL Over if you Don't send $3.00 Right now to Save the Senate"-type crap!
That just pissed me off even more and I believe it was a blatant Insult to every Voters Intellect!
I want the Honest truth, I want blunt realities, I want them to Brag about how they stand With the people and are the Firewall between us and the Oligarchs....I want them to tell the Truth about how Poisoned and SO Toxic the GOP made bills that it was Impossible to reach compromise due to the harmful consequences for "us"....No, instead they curled up in the "fetal position" - ran away from progressives..and our ideas and lost. Those who carried an Unapologetic Progressive message-won as did a multitude of very progressive ballot measures passed in some surprising places.

I wonder...does the Corp Wing of the Dem Party and this POTUS Still want to say to our faces that WE are a Center Right Nation?

12. Not at all, the GOP really has to do nothing but sit back and watch the M$M

carry water for them 24/7. The GOP would not get elected, if we had an unbiased media. All day long it is Blame Obama, they fooled people into believing he was unpopular and 'Dems couldn't win'...which is voter suppression as far as I am concerned.

Without the mass media, the GOP wouldn't exist anymore, then again the GOP realized this in the 1980s and that is why almost all of mass media is owned by a small group of uber rich republicans.

shortly after the transition in January-the GOP will begin to Take Credit for all of this good stuff...then subtlety blame Dems/Obama for all things not being better....or something close to that scenario....
