If you say you're a Democrat but you don't necessarily like the President, or his policies, no one is going to believe that you are going to go back to Washington D.C. and vote against the President's policies or agenda. That simply is, on its face, not believable. A party that runs from its own president during an election year isn't going to be believed by either side when they say this.
Maybe there was a day and an age where that worked. Goldwater Republicans, Dixiecrats, etc.
But that isn't the system we have today.
And if you try to sell it, you'll disenfranchise your own base while looking like a snake oil salesmen to the other side. That should be the lesson learned.
It's pretty fucking simple.

"Im not sure what jackasses controlling the Democratic party decided that they needed to run away from the president, but I hope all their asses are fired. Ive never been more ashamed to be a Democrat than I was during this election. Im a fighter; I might lose, but I damn sure wont lose selling out to fear. Ill stand by my conviction, what it is I believe in and if I lose, so be it. At the end of the day I lost fighting for my beliefs and staying true to myself.
Democrats lost running away from one of the most successful presidents in modern history because they didnt have the internal fortitude to stand up and fight, proudly informing the American people of all the great things that have been accomplished these last 6 years.
If President Obama were a Republican, Americans wouldnt be worried about the economy because Republicans wouldnt be shutting up about its successes. And perhaps the saddest part of all of this is that most Americans dont know about most of the achievements of the Obama administration I just listed. And you know why they dont know about them? Because Democrats are too weak to stand up and proudly profess that yes, we did all of that.
Theres no way in hell Republicans wouldnt stand proudly, even arrogantly, next to one of their presidents if they had created over 10 million jobs (and counting) and they were the Commander-in-Chief who found and authorized the killing of the man responsible for nearly 3,000 deaths and the greatest terrorist attack on our nations soil."

Fucking ChuckTodd was fucking right about Grimes....
Fuck. And even Democratics bought the "plunging approval" when there was factually no fucking thing...it had to be a plan....now only the black man in the White House stands in the fucking way of Christocorpfukuistan.
I am going to 100% behind the President on every fucking thing he does, every fucking thing, he deserves no less after all this fucking idiocy of strategy amounting to treason and sabotage.

(19,841 posts)tho I don't think they were trying to sabotage Obama so much as keep their seats (or get elected), it backfired BIGtime. HISTORIC mistake. The Repugs are ecstatic that they caved. I'm seeing it pretty clearly today. Yeah Obama didn't deserve this--you want to run on the POSITIVES regardless of the spin and attacks.
"Christocorpfukistan." Not an exaggeration Yeah I think we better have BHO's back.

Why on earth would you want to take the advice of the very folks that want to see you fail and hurt the people you are trying to help?

(769 posts)Democrats in D.C. are seriously considering to drop Progressives and Liberals. It's rephensible that they lost by ran away from Obama then blame it on voters. Those who are considering dropping progressives and liberals need to be fucking kicked out of party. I can't stand them.
I'm not a Democrat anymore but I'm becoming much deeper into left than ever. Im not going to vote for lesser of two evils if Hillary become Democratic front runner because I want my vote to mean something which is to work for Real Americans, the middle class and poor class. I want my vote to prevent killing of Muslims. I want my vote to raise the fuckin taxes on the rich people. I want my vote to push for strictest regulations on wall st. I want my vote to actually help and heal Mother Nature.
Hillary? Forget it. She's the corporationist who will make rich people happy and sleep soundly in nights while it's going to be nightmare for rest of Real Americans.

(50,279 posts)they felt the Democratic candidate was disrespectful of the POTUS by wanting nothing to do with him or his policies. From what they said on the show, minority voting was much lower than anticipated and maybe that's one reason. Democrats should have proudly touted all the good things Obama has done. If you're going to lose, at least go down fighting for what the party supposedly believes in.
