Boehner prefaces his remarks with the phrase "the American people". It's his way of saying 'bend over and grab your ankles'.

If people do not vote, then people who dont vote act on their behalf.

Obama said that the people have spoken about raising minimum wage in a few states. Would you argue we shouldnt raise it because only 50% of people voted on those issues?

He really believes that. All the people he listens to say the same thing. It's a risk for people who live in a bubble like he does.
