So much for no boots on the ground: Obama authorizes 1,500 more troops

President Barack Obama has approved doubling the U.S. military force in Iraq and allowing troops to venture beyond headquarters already established in Baghdad and Erbil, in an escalation of the U.S. effort to defeat Islamic State extremists.

Obama also is asking Congress to approve $5.6 billion in added Pentagon and State Department spending to fight the Sunni militants who have seized a swath of Iraq and Syria.

So what do all of you who swore that this wasn't going to happen, that you could take the Presidents word as gospel, have to say now?

that we fucking obliterated, occupied, polluted, and killed hundreds of thousands of their conscripted soldiers and citizens just a short 6 or so years ago. Yeah, that's it. We have no business being involved in their shit at all. It has nothing to do with us.

That's the ticket.

Sorry but Iraq is never going to get better no matter how much money and blood we throw at it, it's better to just cut the loss and let them figure it out than to keep watching our children die there for a mistake.

Promise kept.
