Why We Dems of a (Certain Age) Voted for Bill Clinton in 1992/for "HOPE & Change from Arkansas"

Just putting this out here on DU because there are Newbies and Dems of all Stripes Here.

But this is MY STORY/EXPERIENCE about Bill Clinton and I wanted to put it out here....because ...I am a Democrat of the FDR Stripe...and yet I was Born after Him...but my Heritage is his growing up with HIS LEGACY in the RURAL SOUTH. I thought Bill Clinton was "One of Us." Tied TO NATURE...Introspection of Arkansas Days...Rooted and Grounded in Beliefs from his "Growing Up."

In many ways he had as incredible story as our current President Barak Obama with "broken childhood" and the "kid" who wanted to do better...who was "exceptional" in his experience.

Here:

Cuomo Nominates Clinton 1992 - Part 3
Mario Cuomo gives an amazing speech at the 1992 Democratic National Convention. In nominating Bill Clinton, he also laid down the party platform (which many Democrats seem to forget these days). This speech is even more relevant today.

THIS SPEECH BY CUOMO is AN INCREDIBLE WATCH....In HIND SIGHT! The Dem Party Platform...At that time. which moved forward to the Obama Campaign and Winning of the US Presidency.

and before that, when he nearly unseated John Paul Hammerschmidt in the 1974 3rd District Congressional race.

I do think that in the early days of his presidency, he tried to be more liberal, but he was always being threatened with prosecution for his pecadillos, bad investments, etc., the Sword of Damocles, as it were, if he didn't toe the line.

But..it's amazing that so many don't remember those years and how the Repubs worked against him just like they set off on Carter the minute he won.

What I worry about, though. Is that our Dems seem to Cave against Repub Attacks...and get caught up in a WEB they can't get out of.

That's why I posted the Cuomo Speech ....because we Dems "TRY" ........but, we are ALWAYS OVERWHELMED by those Republican's Hate Speech and Threatens of Prosecution.

I'm wonder WHY that Is? Why are we Dems not (after all these years) not able to DEAL WITH these ATTACKS?

Our RHETORIC IS GREAT.....the "Follow Thorough" is lacking for the most part. Is it the Repubs Corruption....or some kind of "other thing" going on that DEMS RULE with RHETORIC.......but, fall down in Governance because the Repugs with Think Tanks, etcL just have stronger ORGANIZATION?

After ALL THESE YEARs....WHY do Dems Not RULE. Why don't we put money to "Think Tanks" and "Marketing Groups" and the Rest to make US the MAJORITY?

I'm Re-Thinking after this latest Election where the RW Wins....
