I wish that real-life cases of these same electoral delusions could be dissected on news programs far and wide.

What bothers me is how gleefully they work to encourage obstruction, hatred and fear, like wolves, eagerly ripping out the heart of our nation. The women are the worst: they come close to snarling and growling when their agenda is threatened.

"I'd surmise that the women are worst because that bestial behavior is the only way they can feel some Power."

I betcha a dollar you get reported on this.

I've got a word problem. Can't use a clear one when a florid one is tempting me.

Srsly, sometimes I can think of the ponderous ones, while the more natural expression just won't come to mind! I've got just two speeds--ponderous or ridiculous!

on edit: or cussin' my ass off.

other networks are responsible as well. Big Business controls all three branches of government and the media. They have become "Big Brother." Even the people here at DU that think that voting for Hillary because she is not as bad as Jeb, Mitt, Christie, or who ever, fall into their trap. People are unwilling to face the fact that the United States has been under the control of the Plutocrats for some time.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has been working since Reagan to make this a reality. They have spent a lot of money on state and local races, tort reform, ALEC, and have even gone so far as to set up courthouse and online newspapers to influence jurors and publish corporate friendly stories that can be picked up by the AP wire service.
The only way to reverse this is to fight for Publicly Funded Elections and an end to campaign donations. Bernie Sanders has said that this is his number one issue. It would mean a return to Representative Democracy and an end to their control. For that reason they will do everything they can to make sure Bernie is marginalized and his message doesn't get out to the masses of the ignorant.
If we want to end this cycle we will have to take the rose-colored glasses off. We have to convince a large portion of Democrats that we will have to make a stand at some point if we want real, much needed change. The Democratic Party is addicted to corporate money just like the Republicans, otherwise, why would Wall Street get a pass on criminal convictions, or even indictments? Why haven't they introduced financial reforms and talked about busting up the banking and media oligopolies?
Democrats blame Republicans for our mess, Republicans blame the poor, disabled, unemployed, and minorities, but you don't hear much about Wall Street and/or the MIC causing the problems. You also don't hear much about Climate Change from the MSM, and that is where time becomes a serious factor. Unless we wake up soon and fix our corrupt political system, it will be too late!
Rant complete!

A successful democracy requires the informed consent of the governed, but what we have is consent manufactured through misinformation.

The fact is that the 2014 midterm was the lowest voter turnout since WWII; the turnout was the oldest electorate in decades; the turnout was 75% white.

It would be a funnier cartoon if the voters were even remotely cognizant of the issues raised by the characters in this cartoon. They just voted according to identity politics.
