Who was the bigger obstructionist? Harry Reid or Mitch McConnell?

Perhaps they were equal obstructionists?

When you talk with Republicans, Harry Reid kept all the bills that were passed by Boehner and the House on his desk and never permitted a vote.

Democrats saw Mitch McConnell filibuster every bill that made it to the Senate. Democrats could not break the 60-vote requirement to end debate.

So what was the truth? Republicans came to the polls because they wanted to end the Reid obstruction. They hated Reid almost as much as they hated Obama. If they had thought it was McConnell's fault, they would not have voted for him?

Was there a major failure of communication?

and these bills were then blocked by Reid. It was easy for the House GOP to say Reid was the obstructionist. I always considered that a terrible strategy. They should have brought those bills to the floor, amended them down and sent them back to the House or vote them down. It was a very stupid more to keep them.

By comparison, McConnell was essentially able to prevent Reid to pass most bills, so aside from a handful of bills, nothing got stuck on Boehner's desk.

Most people do not understand procedure, so when they hear that 400 bills are blocked (most of them concerning jobs -- even if it is not true) in the Senate and that we can only name a handful blocked in the House (like CIR or ENDA), they draw their own conclusion.

because they read news that lies

I keep hearing about these imaginary bills they passed, but what you want to ask is what was in these "bills' 64 of them were repeal ACA. that means you can just subtract that foolishness. leaves 334. then there are various crappy things - just what bill are they upset that didn't' pass, they can't name a single one. so obviously nothing important was left sitting in Reid's in box. but you would not know that if you listened to FOX news.

Stop the lies and we would not have to waste time talking crap. But know, like a dog with a bone, they keep coming up again and again with the same crap because their news source does not cover real news.

When the subject was brought up by a Repub, the Democrat would sort of hang his head and never respond. This hurt more than we will ever know.
