Some good news for Florida for a change.

Allen West has left the building. He's officially Texas's problem now. Sorry Texas.

It's goodbye for Allen West, who's leaving Florida

By Anthony Man,
Sun Sentinel

Allen West, who rode the tea party wave to Congress and Fox News fame, is leaving liberal South Florida for the conservative promised land of Texas..

West, who represented Broward and Palm Beach counties for two years, was known more for his often incendiary rhetoric than legislating. And he promised in a farewell message posted on his website that his followers should "rest assured, I will continue to make my voice heard."

West, 53, takes over the National Center for Policy Analysis, which describes itself as a "nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy think tank," becoming its CEO. He starts the new job in January. He and his family will relocate from South Florida to Dallas when his daughters graduate from college and high school in May.

The move puts an end to speculation — fanned by West himself — that he would run for U.S. Senate in Florida in 2016 if U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., runs for president instead of seeking re-election.

I'm sure he will settle in Highland Park - near GW Bush's home. I wonder if he knows Cedar Springs Road is just a mile or so away from Highland Park?????
