The outreach was more than just congratulations for winning a fourth term. Both parties have an incentive for courting Collins.

Come January, the centrist from Maine will be a crucial member of a group of moderates wielding considerable clout in the Republican-led Senate, along with independent Angus King, also of Maine, and a handful of Democrats from Republican states. It begs the question why the so called centrists on the reThugs side were never ever active when there are in the minority?

But, lo and behold, centrist lawmakers start popping up when ever the reThugs are in the majority; just to deceive electorate and help the MSM snow the public because the centrism they speak of is just a ploy that allow DLC/Third Way Democrats to back the reThugs and help ram through the neo-con/neo-libral agenda willy-nilly.
