Yup to both chambers.....John Cornyn is already babbling about the medical device tax.....blah blah blah, and bipartisan support...... I just turned the tv off and thought, d*mn, I'm not going to be able to watch either body for the next two years starting in January. I did pop over there at times to hear my government at work, now, it's out of the question. I won't want to hear all the hot air, and BS coming from the majority party in both houses.

(15,805 posts)has already recessed until this evening. Must need a nap after all the exertion entailed in coming back to work after an extended time off to campaign for the chance to do more nothing.

(845 posts)They always recess until the evening for votes the first day they return. It allows people returning from their districts to get back and not miss them.

(15,805 posts)why the senate is in session, even though they just returned from the same break . . .

(845 posts)I was responding to the comment regarding the House. You're either being deliberately argumentative or have no idea what you're talking about.
The senate's votes aren't structured the way the House's are.
My nearly 2 decades under this dome has familiarized me pretty well.

(3,891 posts)You see, the users here don't like facts, they love spin. Especially spin that says the Republicans are at fault.
So the appropriate answer to the response above would have been something like this.
Those fucking Republicans taking half the damned day off to further ignore Immigration reform and to make their plans to further obstruct Obama. We should have them all deported to the Moon.
That reply, while factually inaccurate, would find a lot of approval here.

(15,805 posts)I am NOT fond of choosing to present a picture of doing nothing when there is an equal opportunity to do real work. But, whatever.

(3,891 posts)And why do we hide posts that are accused of nothing more than spreading RW talking points? Even when presenting them as part of an argument of why we are losing, we hide those posts. When posting the information that we were in serious danger of losing the Senate, I've been accused of spreading RW talking points. When linking to stories that support my concerns, I was accused of linking to RW talking point sites, like the NY Times, the Daily Mail, the Telegraph etc.
So what exactly would make the statement factual in your world?

In one of the replies, I link to the Washington Times, mainly because it came up first in the Google search. Despite it absolutely backing up my point, factually. It was pointed out that it was the RW Moonie times. The message wasn't important. The messenger was.
Every day, you can see at least a dozen similar replies. Dismissing the story as mere RW propaganda.

Here's one from today. I didn't post in it, or comment on it. Yet a couple of the replies are basically similar. Gallop is an untrustworthy source. So we won't even discuss the information from them.
So tell me again how it is opinion?
