I've been reading all kinds of excuses why Democrats got their asses kicked.
I won't call out any DUers specifically, but I will call out one dumbass excuse.
Ponies had nothing to do with it.

(3,539 posts)ISIS is no longer a top news item.
We are sending more troops to Iraq.
Ebola? What Ebola?
The Keystone Pipeline is a fast track given.
The ACA is once again in the hands of the black robed sellouts.
Net Neutrality? pith. I'm just wondering if DU will get bundled with Free Republic or ESPN.
The TTP will create jobs? I refrain from swearing.
And Jeb Bush is making presidential noises.
I think those who held out for the pony and didn't vote made a drastic mistake.
And the buggers haven't even taken the oath of office yet.
Yup, it's gonna get ugly.

(4,879 posts)held out for a pony? I know a few who held out for policy, or lack of.
Yes, I agree, it is going to get ugly, very ugly.

(3,539 posts)Right to choose, minimum wage increases, not much to write home about but a start. Might be it will teach our 'fearless leaders' something. And when it gets ugly, and yes it well get ugly, those that didn't vote may realize that not getting the pony is better than getting what comes out of the back end of the pony.
No, we aren't as crazy as they are, but that magic will only work so many times.

(4,879 posts)I just don't believe that those who chose not to participate were asking for a pony.
They are looking for fairness and equality. Neither party ran on those basic issues.
You are correct - not as crazy as, is bad strategy.
ISIS is no longer news, but sending troops to Iraq is. What's the difference?

(4,879 posts)Some here still believe voters held out for a pony.

(11,417 posts)More people voted for them than voted for us. Those that didn't vote held out. They got elected.

Hell, I'm old. The only people who care for my wisdom are my children and my grandchildren.
I'm an old time liberal. That philosophy works for them.

(4,879 posts)Is it really clever?
It seems kinda dumb, stupidly moronic to me.
What the hell do I know? I've spent my life taking care of people, instead of chasing the almighty dollar.

(3,539 posts)Corporate media tells you so. The GOP is assuming control.
<- Is one of these enough?

(4,879 posts)I live in Texas. The elections here have been buggered since Bush v Richardson.
I could say the same thing about Florida since Bush v Whomever.
And now they are sanitizing Poppy Bush's reputation before that sumbitch dies.
Next thing you know, Barbara Bush will be "America's Sweetheart".
