Elizabeth Warren Seen Leaving Harry Reid's Office? (With a f-ing TAPE MEASURE, I hope!)

According to this article, Elizabeth Warren was seen leaving Harry Reid's office recently. Both parties refused to say why, but it's speculated that she is in line for a Senate leadership position.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/12/elizabeth-warren-senate-leadership_n_6148246.html?1415830803

I've got a better idea. How about she TAKES REID'S JOB, instead of accepting some symbolic position (like junior assistant to Senate Minority Whip) designed to appease the progressive populist wing of the Party? That feckless vampire Reid was in charge of the Senate for the last six years, and did NOTHING to forward the Progressive cause, up to and including preventing blue-dog idiots like Ben Nelson from sabotaging healthcare reform when Democrats controlled both chambers of Congress.

Bottom line: We TRIED the 'third way' in the 2014 mid-terms, and it failed miserably. The progressive populist wing of the Party is the only faction that stands any chance of energizing the base, and convincing the roughly 50% of Democratic voters who don't bother to vote (presumably because they see no real difference between the Parties) to turn up on Election Day.

Dear Senate Democrats, obviously you can't make any legislative difference over the next two years, but if any of you are still interested in making a DIFFERENCE, try this.

1. Make Elizabeth Warren the Senate Minority Leader.
2. Make Howard Dean Chairman of the DNC again.
3. Announce that Senate Democrats will FILIBUSTER any bill that messes with either Social Security or Medicare.
4. Announce that Senate Democrats will FILIBUSTER any jobs bill that does not include an increase in the Minimum Wage.
5. Announce that Senate Democrats will PASS any bill that removes the stupid CAP on Payroll Taxes (so that the wealthy have to pay the same rate as everybody else), and then LOWER THE RATE to 3% or 4%. (Or does that Republican trope "lower the rates and broaden the base" only apply to POOR people having to pay more taxes?)

Do all of these things, and the Democrats might be HALF WAY to energizing their base, and possibly winning back the Senate.

I doubt she would get the Minority Leader position.

But there are other leadership positions she could get.

Obama has 'm all beat hands down. Not only that but in the business of having a brilliant mind he has 'm beat there too.

I really like my President if you can't tell

Warren would have to go to the Democratic leaders in the Senate who pull the strings. They would be very hesitant to let her have that position, especially considering the fact that others in leadership roles have been there much longer and are "in line" so to speak.

"didn't know whether to stand when he entered the room, or send him out for coffee."

Sadly, that was his own fault for being too conciliatory, not just with Republicans but with his own Party. But that anecdote reveals a lot about the mentality of Democratic Party Senators. (Amazingly, Republican Senators don't have that issue. They hide under their desks every time newbies with popular support, like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, walk by.)

back in charge of our parties election strategy. Fuck the former mayor of chicago right square in the arse with a 2x4 crossways upside down sideways and inside out and make sure the 2x4 has a few 16 penny spikes driven though it too . He's the bastid that claimed it was he who won the election for us in '08

My apologies if I offended anyone with this graphic

public sector unions in Chicago. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for him.

Also, the main idea he brought to the Obama Administration was the idea that you could win elections and get legislation passed, not by trying to limit the influence of corporate lobbyists, but by playing one group of corrupt corporate lobbyists against another. (ie-the Pharmaceutical Industry against the HMOs.) While that worked in the short run, in the long run it helped to boost the false equivalence meme that Republican hit men are so fond of using, which claims there is no difference between the Parties. (Or at least that's the line Republican hit men use on Democrats [sometimes on DU], while saying the opposite to Republican voters.)

For leadership. There's building blocks to get there. While a breath of fresh air it would be, it's a daydream.
